Weekend Away

Last weekend, Matt & I headed up to Kohler, WI to relax and prepare for Baby Sand #2.  While we were away, Ryan headed to scenic Hollowayville to spend time with his Memaw, Papa and Aunt Kaylee.  Luckily, Aunt Gina was around as well and she sent me many pictures (which were greatly appreciated)!!

Ear Infections be Gone!!

Ryan has had many, many ear infections throughout his short life.  After meeting with the ENT, we decided that the best solution would be to have ear tubes put in.  Luckily, it is a very common procedure for kids.  Even though it is a very simple surgery, we were nervous about it.  Ryan was a champion!! Everything went great and we were in and out of the hospital within 4 hours.

The second half of our holiday break was just as eventful as the first.  After our Christmas tour of North-Central Illinois, we spent a few relaxing days home in La Grange, and then it was off to Lake Geneva with the extended Sand family.  

More specifically, we went to the Timber Ridge hotel which included.....a water park.  We made the mistake of telling Ryan we were going to a water park 4 days before we actually left.  Consequently, he mentioned the water park virtually every hour for the next four days until we actually got there.   We all had a great time and look forward to going back.

And there's a good chance the next time we're at a water park they'll be a new member of the Sand crew.  While most of our loyal blog readers already know, our threesome will become a foursome in late winter - early spring.  Baby Sand's (gender unknown) is scheduled to make an appearance on March 10th.  We'll keep you posted.
